There are times, especially when driving in the country side or older neighborhoods in Las Cruces, when one can almost believe that one is traveling through Mexico itself. This influence of the Mexican culture is what makes Southern New Mexico different from the north. It is also what gives this area its unique character marked by brilliant colors, spicy food, passionate music, and reckless drivers!
